Sunday let the Sunshine in

Sun came out ... excellent. Miss Sybil had a bath, nothing like a little bit of Chinese water torture on a Sunday. We even conditioned. After a mad figure of eight dash about the lawn (actually currently jungle due to 2 foot high grass) we basked in the sun for a little while.

Took the Vax 2000 for a spin ... it doesn't get out much due to my disgust at the thought of house work. Then we moped, and had lovely shiny wooden floors. Then the basking hound waltzed back through the house and muddy paw prints and tumble weeds of hound hair undid all my work.

I have Beyonce's little ditty stuck in my head. It's called an earworm.

The term earworm is the literal English translation of the German word ohrwurm. An earworm is also sometimes called a sticky tune or a cognitive itch. Subscriber 9 to word spy) Isa Mara Lando of Brazil tells me that in Portuguese they call it chiclete de ouvido, or ear chewing gum.

Best reason to have kids ... to dress them up ... if I could get into a size 3 I would so buy this little number from Lil Sweet Peas

Someone's been busing turning 6 headbands for a $1.99 into little birdie and heart hair pieces ... great more crap strewn around my house ...

earworms!I love that I now have a word to describe those annoying songs. Funny how you never get an earworm of a song you actually really love...

Yes. I spoke to my sister yesterday and she said it was sunny and hot. Oh for a wee bit of sun to dry my family's growing pile of dirty washing. We've got rain forecast all week. Boo hoo.

Isn't it always the same? You wash your dog and can't do a thing with it. I guess Miss Sybil doesn't like clean floors!

Thanks for the comment on my blog, I love all your crafts, amazingly AMAZINGLY cute! The grass in my garden is about the same height as yours, I havent been out there in months for fear of what is hiding in there.

If you want, I'm willing to start a petition to raise the maximum size on children's clothing...
(My mother has used the 'doesn't-that-make-you-want-children-anytime-fast-strategy for years now, but the point is... I just want those stinkin' cute dresses!)

Another option is that we start dressing up the dogs. I bet they fit in a size 3...

Best wishes,
K.

The opposite of an earworm is an eargasm - a song that gets you going!

Ta for the letter, will reply on a weekend when I have world enough and time. My nameless sonnet was original and written by me. I didn't write it and not say who by, honest guv'!

If you are fond of a tale, I may send you a copy of one...
