Raging against the machine in the upper-middle class burbs

Mirandolina from Poland was the winner of my giveaway ... she has free-range in my Etsy store. The title for this blog came from a punk kid I saw on the bus on the way home Friday night. He had a decent 10cm mohawk, safety pins, falling down pants, surly/vacant look on his face. Though he looked very self conscious, he didn't really pull the 'punk' off. Then he got off at Bardon central (if you're not from Brisbane this is not a punk end of town, it's more your Lexus and boat shoes end of town). Here are some images from www.weheartit.com for Sid 'Not So' Vicious and Johnny 'Just Starting to Turn Sour'.

Yesterday was a beautiful June day in Brisbane, and the perfect place to sit for a few hours was the BiDM at Hamilton. The markets were steady, not as busy as they have been in the past, but it was still an absolutely fantastic day. The committee did a grade-A job (as always) and the punters could not have asked for more, with a sausage sizzle, blue skies and the precise organisation of a North Korean military show. Splendid ladies!

some market goers ...

the view from my little stall ...

I got picked up and as the market ended at 2pm had a chance to swing by the uber market and buy some supplies for a BBQ. Then we sat outside and enjoyed the last of the sunshine with some beer and overcooked BBQ food.

tempted ...

Sybil came out of the market day with a funky-ass new collar. She was not that impressed, although to impress Sybil you generally need to produce something she can eat, chase or take a ride in. See more of these collars from Rocstar Dog Boutique.

I also came away with a beautiful ring from Kimono Reincarnate, her stuff is so beautiful and well made (she uses really good sturdy rings bases not the thin ones) and at $20 it was a total steal. See more of her cute and very affordable stuff here at read her blog here.

Thanks also to the lovely Perle J who lent me her jacket as I was in the shade for half the day and only wore a singlet! Silly me. So see you all at the next BrisStyle market the Eco market on July 10. Click here to read more about it. See below for more of the neat little guys you will find on my Etsy store ...

Love the 1st picture! Enthusiasm appears to be about 13 out of 10!
Glad you had a great time at the markets yesterday. I didn't get a chance to have a wander, not because I was rushed off my feet!!! The BrisStyle markets are always so much fun! See you at the ECO markets. x
