The Easter Assimov Bunny

If you hadn't realised that Easter is just around the corner you must not have walked up the aisle in Coles or Woolworths dedicated entirely to a religious holiday. The holiday celebrates the rebirth of a fictional character - which has somehow turned into another fictional character, a mythical bunny who delivers chocolate eggs making people go camping, eat too many calories and make their children 'hunt'. Need I say more? Ricky Gervais has a good article of Eater and also how to be good Christian here. Let there be chocolate, let there be debate.

Creationists make it sound as though a 'theory' is something you dreamt up after being drunk all night. - Issac Assimov.

Looking forward to Easter ...I like the symbolism of everything is new again. AND having given up chocolate for Lent ...I am SO looking forward to pigging out over the holiday weekend ...on LOTS of choc.

It's better than that... the hare, not a bunny and the egg are the symbols of Eostre the Saxon goddess of the Dawn and nothing to do with Jesus. So one fictional character's festival was nicked by the followers of another fictional character and even the symbols aren't the same!!!

I wouldn't mind, but they could have dreamt up a more imaginative theory than that one.

Yes, let there be chocolate... well the debate's ok, but I prefer the chocolate.
