Another of my birthday presents arrived last week, a month late due to an eBay seller with a whole lotta excuses. But it eventually arrived and I now have two new nesting Pyrex bowls. I cracked them out today and whipped up some banana cupcakes with cream cheese icing.
New bowl (smallest one)
Birthday present that arrived on-time! Thank you good eBay citizen
A vintage 'Irish' tea towel
Last year's birthday present ... my pistachio dream boat
I'm reading 'The Pursuit of Love' by Nancy Mitford, great book. It made me think why we pick the people we fall in love with. Who knows, does it really matter? It certainly is a good read though, she's a funny lassy that Nancy.
This Saturday I will be at the Handmade Expo selling all my crafty wares. It's going to be an early start! If you're in the mood for some shopping come out and say hi. Ipswich has a bit of a rep, but so does Keith Richards and he's cool. Show and tell your purchases over lunch in the pretty historical city CBD.
This post is for 'the hawk'. The title says eagle, but 'the hawk has landed' doesn't have the same ring to it. After a harrowing three years 'the hawk' has handed in her PhD thesis. She probably won't read this post as 1. she's not terribly interested in my silly blogging and 2. she is probably frantically cleaning walls or having a mild panic attack. So congratulations, well done and now take a break, go to Alaska and shack-up with a burly (but sensitive) lumberjack called Beau.
This week I got two beautiful parcels in the mail. The first one was for my birthday, from my Mum. A cute little iittala glass bowl, I have put my silver Finnish rings and other assorted jewellery in it.
Pearls and Finnish silver stuff ...
The second parcel arrived today from America. Inside was a mountain goat getting hitched to a bunny. It's the wedding cake topper from Melabo. So cute. For now they're in holy matrimony on my bookshelf until the big day when they get to sit atop the chocolate wedding cake!
Last but not least ... the winner of the card pack from my last post is bunnys kaleidoscope she has a very cute blog.
