Thanks to Frankie magazine I came across this lovely Tumblr 'Found' by National Geographic. As a child of the 80s I, like many other 80s' babies, spent many a night on the floor flicking through a National Geograpic - I actually wanted to be an archaeologist when I grew up.
One of my best childhood friends had a farm in the Daintree and her mum would 'drop us off' there for the weekend. We were only about 10 or 11 years old, these days someone would have called DOCS quick smart, but we had a box of Ryvita biscuits and some avos, so we were all good. At night we'd lie in the attic with a candle (I know, seriously!) and read the pile of potential fire fuel, I mean 70s Nat Geo mags.
I loved the articles about digging stuff up and cool people who lived in far away places - often with missing teeth. Did you read these when you were a kid?
